Kerstin’s travel diary – visit to Mai Jana and the women’s aid ladies
These days it is very hot here in the region at the foot of the Mulanje Mountains. We visited Mai Jana. She sews school bags from Likuni Phala sacks for our local school children, but also imaginative cuddly toys that we take with us to Germany and display at our information stands in order to give them away for a donation. As we arrived Mai Jana, there were already some ladies from the Women’s Aid waiting with her who wanted to greet us. We receive an incredibly friendly welcome everywhere we go! ‘Women’s aid’ and ‘women’ in general are two exciting topics.
